The Stress-Free Morning Routine: 10 Sunday Minutes That Change Your Week

Part of the FamilyDecode Method: Decode → Plan → Practice → Review

Morning chaos is rarely a discipline problem — it's a decision problem. Every decision made at 7:30 a.m. (outfit, backpack, snack) is a chance for friction. The fix: move those decisions to Sunday, when nobody is in a hurry.

The ritual: 10 minutes together with a planner in front of you. Pick the week's outfits, check backpacks and activities, and post the morning steps (wake up, get dressed, breakfast, teeth, shoes) where your child can see them. Younger kids love checking off the steps themselves.

The result: in the morning you're no longer the conductor barking orders — you're a teammate following the same plan. Reminders become "check your chart" instead of "hurry up!" — and that changes the tone of the whole day.
