What we are — and what we're not
FamilyDecode publishes educational content about everyday family organization, communication, and routines. We are not doctors, psychologists, or therapists, and nothing on this site is medical or psychological advice. When a topic touches health or serious difficulty, we say so in the article and point readers toward qualified professionals. If your family is facing something heavy, please talk to your doctor — that, too, is good decoding.
Our editorial process
- Every article starts from a real, specific family friction — never from a keyword alone.
- We ground advice in widely accepted, evidence-informed parenting approaches (positive discipline, emotion coaching, routine science) and plain common sense.
- Everything is written in plain words for tired parents: short, concrete, and usable tonight.
- Every article ties back to the FamilyDecode Method and links to the tools that make it practical.
- Each article displays its published and last-updated dates, and we revisit our most-read pages regularly.
Content review & update policy
Every article carries its published and last-updated dates. We re-review our most-read pages on a rolling basis, and any material change — new evidence, a better tool, a corrected claim — updates the page and its date. Found something outdated, unclear, or simply wrong? We want to know. Write to hello@familydecode.com with the page link, and we'll review it within two weeks. Corrections update the page's "last updated" date.
Research methodology
Before an article is written, we map the friction it addresses: when it happens, what families have usually already tried, and why generic advice fails there. We then check our recommendations against established, mainstream frameworks — positive discipline, emotion coaching, routine and habit research — and against the most demanding test we know: would this survive a real Tuesday evening in a tired household? Anything that only works for rested parents with unlimited patience gets cut.
Sources policy
We favor primary and institutional sources (pediatric associations, published research, recognized parenting frameworks) over blog hearsay, and we deliberately avoid citing trends or viral claims that lack support. Where the evidence is mixed or age-dependent, we say so in the article rather than flattening it into false certainty. We never accept payment to recommend a product, approach, or resource.
Why trust FamilyDecode
- Every recommendation is tied to a named, repeatable framework — the FamilyDecode Method — not to one-off tricks.
- Published and last-updated dates on every article, and a public correction policy (above).
- No ads and no sponsored content: our only incentive is that our tools actually work in your home.
- We state our limits plainly: educational content, not medical or psychological advice.
How we make money
FamilyDecode is funded by the planner kits in our shop — not by ads, sponsored posts, or selling your data. Free resources are genuinely free; kits are clearly marked. That's the whole model.
